Privacy Policy
At ZentrY, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. ZentrY IDM is engineered from the ground up to operate locally on your device without surveillance, third-party trackers, or commercial profiling.
1. Core Principles
- Zero URL or Content Tracking: We never track, inspect, or log the URLs you download, the names of your files, or the contents of your downloads.
- Local-First Architecture: Your entire download history, queue status, and preferences reside solely on your local computer in an encrypted SQLite database.
- No Advertising or Profiling: ZentrY contains no advertising networks, tracking pixels, or data brokerage SDKs.
- Opt-in Diagnostics Only: Any diagnostic reporting is strictly off by default and requires your explicit consent.
2. Information Handled Locally
When you download a file, the URL, referer header, file name, and file size are stored strictly in your local SQLite database (%LOCALAPPDATA%\ZentrY\zentry.db). This data is never sent to external servers.
If you initiate downloads from a browser extension requiring session cookies, cookies are passed over a local Windows Named Pipe solely to authenticate the file download with the remote host. Any proxy credentials you configure are encrypted at rest using the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI).
3. Browser Integration Permissions
The ZentrY open-source browser extensions (Manifest V3) require minimal permissions to intercept file links and pass them to the desktop engine via Native Messaging. The browser extension contains no remote tracking scripts.
4. Data Retention & Removal
You have complete control over your data. You can clear download history anytime inside the app. When uninstalling ZentrY IDM, the uninstaller provides an explicit prompt allowing you to completely wipe all local settings, database records, and temporary files from disk.
